The U9-U12 age group is the third stage of soccer development that our players go through, commonly known as the "golden age of learning".

The effect of the role model is very important at this stage. Children begin to identify with famous players and successful teams, and they want to learn imaginative skills. Skill demonstration is very important and the players learn best by "doing". Repetitions are important to develop technical excellence, but creating a fun and challenging environment is still essential for stimulating learning.

For the players to enjoy and benefit from their soccer experience we recommend that each coach attend a Learn To Train Coaching Clinic. During the fun, interactive 16-hour course you will be introduced to games and activities that are designed for the Learn to Train development stage players. Learn how to design and run a safe, age appropriate practice.

Soccer for Life Session
Saturday & Sunday, March 28-29, 2015 | 10AM-6PM each day
Cost: $275 per person
Location: Country Day School, 13415 Dufferin Street, King City

Participants need to be 16 years or older and must be present for the entire duration of the course. No refunds for inability to attend or cancellation. Coach Centre registration is mandatory.

The Soccer for Life development stage is the seventh stage of soccer development that our players go through. These U13+ players could be newcomers to the game or have many years of experience. Coaches should encourage the mastering of new skills and also maintain or improve skills that players may already have.

This stage requires a fun and challenging environment to keep them interested and active in soccer. These recreational and competitive players will enjoy and benefit from exciting and stimulating practices and games.

For the players to enjoy and benefit from their soccer experience we recommend that each coach attend a Soccer For Life Coaching Clinic. During the fun, interactive 14-hour course you will be introduced to games and activities that are designed for the Soccer for Life development stage players.

YRSA Awarded $202,000 Trillium Grant
Recently, the Ontario Trillium Foundation awarded the YRSA $202,000 over three years to support the technical director position in order to guide and assist member clubs in adapting the national LTPD program. Along with enhancing the skills and knowledge of volunteer coaches, clinics and camp programs for children will be offered that will increase participation and reduce drop-out rates.
