YRSA Appoints Erik Stoffelshaus as new District Technical Director
The Board of Directors for the York Region Soccer Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Erik Stoffelshaus as the new District Technical Director commencing immediately.
With more than a decade with German Bundesliga Club FC Schalke 04, and most recently as TD for one of Canada's largest youth soccer clubs (West Ottawa Soccer Club), Erik brings a combination of extensive youth coaching experience and a keen understanding of both Long Term Player Development (LTPD) principles and coaching development to York Region.
Erik is ecstatic with the opportunity to bring his brand of football to York Region, one of the largest districts in Ontario. "As a leader with a proven track record of transparency, team work, and change management and someone with both big picture thinking and attention to detail, I am very intrigued by the opportunity to work with the YRSA to affect profound and long-lasting success for the association, as a future leader of the sport in the province, the country and beyond." states Stoffelshaus.
In addition to his 20+ years of extensive coaching experience, Erik was also an avid player for 20 years in Germany, playing exclusively with TuS Union 09 Muelheim.
He holds a Master's Degree in Sport Science from Ruhr University Bochum (Germany) and obtained a UEFA-A-Licence Diploma with the German Football Association (DFB).
As the new YRSA Technical Director, Erik is responsible for the promotion and development of soccer at all levels within our district. Please join us in welcoming Erik Stoffelshaus in his new position.
