YRSA District Players @ the 2012 OSA Coaching Conference

Sixteen of the YRSA district program boys performed in front of a crowd of over 400 coaches on Sunday February 26th. This may be the largest crowd that these 12 year old boys have ever played in front of, and they performed very well.

The boys were part of the Ontario Soccer Association's Annual coaching conference. The theme of this year's conference, held at the Soccer Centre was LTPD; the boys participated in a Learn to Train session. The Learn to Train stage of development is designed for male players 9 to 12 years

Working with the National Development Manager for the Scottish Football Association, Ritchie Wilson, the sixteen York Region boys performed activities such as individual defending, small group defending counter attacking and penetration and finished with a 3 zone small sided game.

The full details of Ritchie's session can be found here: Defending Principles | Counter Attack

The boys listened intently to Coach Ritchie Wilson's information and performed the activities with high quality and with a smile. Several of the coaches in attendance commented on how talented the boys were and how well they performed and enjoyed each of the practices.

YRSA thanks the OSA Manager of Coach Education, Mark Marshall for inviting the boys to participate and supplying them with a full Umbro kit, participation certificates and OSA pins.
