For the 2015 Season, the YRSA will be implementing a pre-game ceremony for all games played in York Region.

- The squads/teams (all players present) will line up on the touch line in from of their respective benches.
- The players' books and equipment will be checked at this time.
- When this is complete the teams will then shake hands with the referee and opposing players.
- There will be no formal handshake after the game.
- All leagues and coaches in York Region have been advised that this procedure will be mandatory for all games. NO EXCEPTIONS.
York Region will be developing referees and players for the next level of play (Ontario Cup, OSL, League 1, professional leagues) where this is the standard.
