2013 - 5th Annual Special Needs Children's Soccer Camp
The YRSA will be holding a Special Needs Soccer Camp for this upcoming outdoor season!
Please sign your child up early for an opportunity to develop their fine and gross motor skills through playing Canada’s most popular participation sport, while making new friends and having FUN!

Every day will have a welcome/attendance taking (sign-in), with warm-ups and stretching in the morning before games begin with a half-hour break every day at 10:30 am.
| Day #1 | Team building sessions (i.e. song, dance etc), Name game (alphabetically with assistance from mentors), dribbling practice games, scrimmage |
| Day #2 | Soccer baseball, soccer skills stations, shooting practice games, passing contests, scrimmage |
| Day #3 | Soccer relay races, best goal celebration contest, World Cup shootouts, scrimmage with the mentors, sponsored farewell party |
Sign out will be at 12pm every day with the exception of on the final day when sign out will be at 12:30pm following the farewell party.
- Disabilities can include but are not limited to: blind/visually impaired, amputees or a condition that impairs mobility, mentally challenged, emotionally challenged, Autistic/Asperger’s, Down Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy.
- We endeavour to provide a ratio of 1:1 of volunteer mentors to child. Most volunteers will be youth aged soccer players from our sixteen YRSA Youth Soccer Clubs (they will be provided training prior to the start of camp)
- A parent/guardian will be required to attend with your child each day to camp to assist the volunteer youth mentors should any problems arise.
- The children will be split into age specific groups and will be assessed as to their playing level on the first day of camp.
- The playing field is fenced for safety reasons, and there is an accessible washroom facility nearby.
- Certificates of Achievement will be handed out to all the children on the final day of camp.
- A sponsored farewell “party” will be held on the final day of camp.

Calling All Youth-Aged Soccer Players!!!
We need Youth Volunteers (aged 16+) to act as mentors at each of the two special needs camps. The goal is to have a 1:1 ratio of counselors to child.
This is a great opportunity for you to get involved in making a positive impact in your community while earning your community service hours for your high school diploma.
